alright, i must explain myself before i get any more fist shaking devious notes in my box:
***THIS PEICE IS NOT MEANT TO SAY AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE LIARS***
it IS ment to say that the Bush Administration is lying to the American people. "They Lie" is referring to the Bush Administration, the flag represents the people and country- which is being "torn" apart by false statements and FLAT OUT LIES.
On the topic of 9-11, the Bush Administration gets their information from the 9-11 panel. The panel stated that 'there is "no credible evidence" that Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaeda plan and train for attacks against the United States...' which contradicts the rational that the Bush Administration had for invading Iraq [In a letter to Congress on March 19, 2003 — the day the war in Iraq began — Bush said that the war was permitted under legislation authorizing force against those who "planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001."]
.
In a CNBC interview, Cheney was asked if Iraq was involved in 9/11, he said, "We don't know."
But Cheney also said "There clearly was a relationship. It's been testified to. The evidence is overwhelming," during CNBC's Capitol Report.
What the heck is he thinking? 9-11 panel said that there is justified evidence that Saddam had links to the terrorist attack (over 2 million documents were reviews, over 80 investigators), but Bush says, and i QUOTE, "the reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al Qaeda [is] because there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda," humm... that seems justified enough (bahahahaha) where is the proof? Cheney says he is unsure of the links, then he says there is hard evidence... you think there could be some type of LIE weaved into this political mess?
EDIT #2: DESCRIPTION:
art is left up to interpretation- i don't like telling people what my art "means," i like to let others form their own opinions, but this peice did need some explaining. one person thought :
"the hands are really keeping the flag from being torn further...that implies that only the Truth will keep us together as a country...see thats what it is about art...people look at the same thing and if the hands were tearing the flag it would be pulled apart.... the hand are clenched together as if to hold the flag and country together... symbolic of course..."
Hmm... Perhaps the America of today lies, yes, but I don't think ripping a flag and calling all America and Americans liars is mature.
For example, if not for "those lying Americans" like Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Franklin, Anthony, countless artists, countless writers, countless people, you wouldn't even be able to make the statement you made in this piece.
It's sad that you feel you can stereotype America.
if that is what you think it means... i was referring to cheney actually- not americans... seeing that i am an american. this peice wasn't went to bash americans, but to say "the administration is lying about the issues."
thanks for your imput though.
